A message from the Office of Inclusive Excellence

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Trainings for CSU Employees

The Office of Inclusive Excellence is pleased to announce a new diversity, equity, and inclusion training model for all CSU employees, including staff, faculty, and graduate students.

The new training model encompasses all of the previously offered trainings, including Principles of Community and the Creating Inclusive Excellence Program (CIEP), in a format that allows individual employees to attend trainings within their own schedule limitations.

Session descriptions and offerings for the fall 2021 semester are now live and you can access all of the information, including links to register on Bridge, on the DEI Employee Trainings website. Attendance is limited and early registration for all programs is strongly recommended.

In this new model, the popular Creating Inclusive Excellence Program will now be accessible to employees who were unable to commit to the former intensive 6-week cohort structure. Employees who complete all six of the CIEP courses will be awarded the Creating Inclusive Excellence Program certificate. There is no time limit to completing the courses and prerequisites for each course are indicated on the website.

We are also excited to merge our faculty development efforts with those in equity education, as part of the Office of Inclusive Excellence realignment. A PDF of upcoming opportunities is available on the website now and we will continue updating the page to further integrate educational equity sessions soon.

Session offerings and registration will be released at the beginning of each semester, similar to the Talent Development model, and trainings will be held in a hybrid format, with in-person activities at the Diversity House’s new training room. For additional information or questions, please contact Ria Vigil, Assistant Vice President for Inclusive Excellence.

Thank you for engaging in diversity, equity, and inclusion work at CSU,

–Office of Inclusive Excellence (formerly the Office of the Vice President for Diversity)
