Office of Inclusive Excellence

Employee Climate Survey Launches October 19

Greetings CSU Employees,

Tomorrow, the 2021 Employee Climate Survey will be released to all CSU faculty and staff. The Office of Inclusive Excellence, in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research, Planning and Effectiveness, conducts the survey every three years, to give each CSU employee the opportunity to share their work perspectives and experiences. With the past 19 months presenting some of the most unique challenges in our institution’s history, this feedback is more critical than ever.

The Employee Climate Survey is strictly anonymous and no identifying data is reported under any circumstance. No personally identifying information (name, email, IP address etc.) will be tied to the responses in any way. The demographic data is voluntary and allows the results to be viewed through an equity lens.

The Employee Climate Survey provides an opportunity for best practices to be identified and expanded and for leadership to work from data as units implement efforts to positively impact culture. In the past, the climate survey results have informed university-wide partnerships between HR, the Office of Inclusive Excellence, Talent Development, and more to develop initiatives such as the diversity strategic plans, a workplace bullying policy, and supervisor training programs.

Employees will receive an automated message signed by their unit leadership with a link to complete the survey beginning tomorrow, October 19th. The survey is also available in both English or Spanish, as well as through hard-copy formats which will be available online once the survey opens and can be returned in designated locations around the university.

We encourage you to take a few minutes to complete the survey and request that supervisors and unit leaders provide time for their staffs to do so. The survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

Thank you in advance for encouraging your fellow employees to complete the survey and for providing your honest responses. Visit the website for more information about the Employee Climate Survey and please feel free to reach out to the Office of Inclusive Excellence if you have any questions.

With thanks,

– Joyce McConnell, President, and Kauline Cipriani, Vice President for Inclusive Excellence
