Men Recite Sexist Things Women Have To Deal With At Work

A new campaign asked women in advertising to share their experiences on the job.

An advertising network is tackling sexism in the workplace with a powerful role-reversal video.

For International Women's Day, ad agency TBWA collected quotes from women throughout the advertising industry worldwide about the issues they've faced and hurdles they've had to jump over throughout their careers. Men among TBWA's global network, including creative directors and the CEO of TBWA Worldwide, read the women's quotes in a video (watch above) for a campaign titled "Take the Lead." The quotes are also featured on posters and banners that will be distributed on social media and in TBWA offices.

"Take the Lead" is part of TBWA's initiative called "Project 20\20," in which the advertising network aims to increase women in leadership roles at TBWA by 20 percent by 2020. Erica Hoholick, president of TBWA/Media Arts Lab, told The Huffington Post that International Women's Day and Women's History Month seemed like the perfect occasion to reiterate TBWA's mission.

"There will be no mistake moving forward that we believe in equality and diversity," she said. "This is our way of holding everyone accountable for this change because women's issues about equality are everyone's issue."
