February 27-28: 25th Annual Front Range Student Ecology Symposium (FRSES)

We are proud to announce that the 25th Annual Front Range Student Ecology Symposium (FRSES)! This year we aim to highlight the importance of diverse ecological research in generating a holistic understanding of our environment. Our theme this year, “From past to future: Navigating global change”, highlights the idea that in order to tackle global change impacts to natural resources, we require a look to the past and present, in order to guide actions to preserve our future environment.

This completely student-organized symposium is an opportunity for students to present and discuss their research in a professional, supportive setting and to interface with many acclaimed scientists in the field of ecology. This year, since we will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of our event, we have are organizing a bigger and better event than our usual annual symposium, which includes:

Invited scholars:

– Dr. Jacquelyn Gill – School of Biology and Ecology – University of Maine

– Dr. Steven Hamburg – Environmental Defense Fund

IGNITE talks, career workshops and panel discussions, oral and poster presentations, student-faculty mixers, and more! This year, we are proud to also be an all Graduate Women in Science Executive Committee, championing for diversity and female representation in the Sciences. This is why we are hosting Dr. Jacquelyn Gill as our Key Note speaker, and we will also host a panel addressing the diversity of careers for women in science during our FRSES 2019 event.
