November 8: Annual Conference on Gender Justice and Feminism

The Annual Conference on Gender Justice and Feminism is an all-day experience designed to explore women’s and gender issues and gender oppression through an intersectional lens. This conference provides an opportunity to bring awareness, celebrate, and connect with others while creating community and empowering oneself and others to promote gender equity at UNC and beyond.

This conference experience, to attend and to present, is open to all UNC students, faculty, staff, and community members as a way to engage contemporary and historical women’s and gender issues.

To honor a decade of hosting our conference on the UNC campus, the Center for Women’s & Gender Equity (CWGE) has chosen the theme “Celebrating 10 Years of Our Journey, Your Journey.” As our Center continues to embrace growth and change within our community, we reflect on how our conference has grown over time. We want this year’s conference to be an opportunity to reflect on our individual and collective growth within our social justice journeys. As we delve into conversation about where we come from, where we are, and where we are going, we invite you to contribute to this year’s conference by submitting a proposal. We welcome a variety of topics.

We recognize that our own personal identities are shaped through our journeys and growth, and by gathering together, we can continue to become more aware of how we can create the change we desire to see in our society.
