Engaging Women in Philanthropy
Tuesday, September 26th
3:00 – 4:00 PM
Lory Student Center Room 324
Presenters: Shay Galto, Assistant Director of Talent Management, Training & Support, University Advancement; and Alexis Kanda-Olmstead, Managing Director of Talent Management, Training & Support for University Advancement at CSU.

Despite increases in women’s wealth and engagement, stereotypes around women in philanthropy still persist and inform institutional decisions. Women in the 21st Century make up 45% of all American millionaires, and women of all wealth levels often give more time, treasure, and talent than their male peers. Fundraising and engagement strategies must evolve to accompany this shift in philanthropy.

This session examines how women currently engage in philanthropy at Colorado State University and strategies to strengthen ongoing initiatives. These include the Women in Philanthropy Committee, focus group interviews, and women-centered events. We will open dialogue on future opportunities for engagement.
