From the VP of Inclusive Excellence

“In the pursuit of a community where every individual not only belongs but flourishes, our efforts extend beyond mere inclusion. Here, we actively dismantle barriers and cultivate spaces that champion diversity in every form. Our mission is personal; it's a shared commitment to nurturing a campus that reflects the world's rich tapestry. Through strategic initiatives and a culture of continuous learning, we are not just reacting to the need for change — we are leading it, embedding equity in every action, and inviting every member of our family to play a part in this vital journey. It is here, at the intersection of education and equity, that we redefine excellence for the 21st century and beyond.” — Kauline Cipriani, Vice President of Inclusive Excellence

We strive to integrate positive experiences, education, and Native heritage into programs, fostering a sense of belonging for all.

Our history

Since 2003, the number of enrolled self-identified Native American students at Colorado State University has increased by 287 percent from 250 to 968. To meet challenges of growth and to continue developing a successful environment, NACC aspires to efficiently use resources in ways that maximize its offerings and ensure student success.

Four primary pillars of advocacy and service for students include recruitment, retention, matriculation and outreach. NACC programs are designed to create well-rounded individuals, focusing on three important areas that foster future contributions to society and integrate all the opportunities offered at a top-tier University. Those areas include: 1) academic pursuits, 2) development of lifelong interpersonal skills and 3) essential skills and experience for professional development.

A Foundation of Belonging

NACC programs work in concert with the division in which it is housed (the Office for Inclusive Excellence), to ensure positive experiences, education and the heritage of native peoples are integrated within all of its program and service offerings. The office works diligently to distribute those offerings to all of its audiences, and to cultivate a sense of belonging among those audiences.
